If you are in the minority of the Lakers’ fanbase that is tentative about accepting center Dwight Howard due to his back issues, think about Andrew Bynum’s current situation.
The Philadelphia 76ers center will miss three weeks as a precautionary measure after he underwent a knee procedure in Germany.
Bynum has issues in both of his knees and the Sixers revealed today that he also has a bone bruise in his right knee.
Bynum experienced what is being called discomfort in his right knee over the weekend and the team decided to reduce his participation to low-impact conditioning drills.
“I’m going to do everything in my power to get back,” Bynum said to ESPN.
The Sixers open their season on Halloween night and Bynum is currently on deck to play.
“At this point, I just need to go out and work on my craft,” Bynum said. “I should still be able to do that, even with being shut down.”
Bynum is without a doubt one of the NBA’s greatest defensive talents and he is now the cornerstone of what the Sixers are trying to do.
But he does have a tendency to turn gimpy and maybe that more than anything else is why the Lakers gave up much to secure Howard in lieu of Bynum.
