PHILADELPHIA – The impossible may be becoming possible. The Philadelphia 76ers are one game away from taming the Chicago Bulls and sending them home after the first round of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.
Jrue Holiday drained two of 3-pointers late in the game to secure the win. Holiday’s shots came back-to-back in the fourth period for the 76ers, who were the unlikeliest of all teams to make a Cinderella run.
Holiday put together 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Spencer Hawes scored 22 and eight rebounds for the Sixers.
During the regular season the Bulls were hyper-successful without Rose. In the playoffs, the opinion that they could still get it done without him is changing.
The biggest reason for this is that the Sixers won with confidence despite shooting less than 40% from the field.
Mentally, the have Bulls dialed out of this series and now Philadelphia will try to close it out on Tuesday’s Game 5 at Chicago.
