If you feel as if now would be a good time for New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez to cash in his chips, you are not alone.

There are a number of reasons why the smart money says that he should yet according to ESPN, his camp is stating that he won’t.
“Alex has no plans at all to retire,” one source with close personal ties to the embattled third baseman said on Thursday.
“Alex says he’s working diligently on his rehabilitation and is looking forward to getting back on the field as soon as possible,” said another source, authorized by Rodriguez to speak on his behalf.
A-Rod has $114 million reasons why at this time he needs to stick to the script.
The Yankees are reportedly fishing for a way out of his deal but have yet to either pull the trigger or find a clear path to getting that done.
The story that ran in the Miami New Times is just that: a story.
Until that story can be investigated and corroborated with a mountain of evidence there is not much that will happen.
Essentially Rodriguez is a lame duck for the better part of this season anyway.
He is recovering from hip surgery and because of that reason New York brought in Kevin Youkillis who can more than fulfill his duties in his absence.
