Ben Roethlisberger is ” not sure about what is going to happen yet” with Steelers offense.

PITTSBURGH—Much has been said about how arriving Pittsburgh OC Todd Haley will get along with QB Ben Roethlisberger.

For those waiting for the shoot-out…it may not be coming. On today’s Rich Eisen Podcast, Big Ben sounded very nonchalant about how things will be going down in Steel City.

“I get a little confused at times because I know so much has been made about us quote-unquote throwing the ball too much, or we’re going back to Steeler football and running the ball more,” Roethlisberger said.

“But in these meetings I’ve had with coach Haley he’s all about the no-huddle, and using our wide receiver weapons, and throwing the ball, and stuff like that, so I’m still confused. I’m not sure what’s going to happen yet.”

Ben is evolving both as a QB and as a locker room leader.

Haley’s reputation comes with the territory; there is no doubt about that.

Based on the personnel group that they have in Pittsburgh, their best hope to win is to do it just how Ben is describing Haley’s plans.

You have a QB that is an escape artist that can buy time with a group of wide outs that can get down the field and make big plays.

In the backfield, you have a backs committee that is not run by the hot hand but by who is not injured.  Common sense has to step in at some point and state a few things.

Keep in mind it was Haley that masterminded the best days of the Kurt Warner/Larry Fitzgerald/Anquan Boldin show.

Is he prone to flare-ups? Of course but it’s doubtful that Head Coach Mike Tomlin is going to sponsor that kind of chaos on his sideline.
