Say what you want to about his demeanor, his leadership and current play, one thing that you can’t deny is that Cam Newton is always dressed pretty well.
Filed under the get-it-while-you-can style of doing business Newton has joined forced with Charlotte retailer Belk to launch his own MADE menswear line.
At the line’s launch party on Monday, Newton was quick to assure fans that football is still his priority according to the News Observer.
“Without football success, I wouldn’t have this opportunity,” Newton said. “That will always be my No. 1 priority. … I still feel 100 percent confident our goals are in reach.”
“This whole fashion ordeal is … something I’ve never done before,” he said. “They did an unbelievable job of taking my ideas and my fashion and making it a brand.”
Is he ready to take over MADE as a full job thing if he had to?
“The competitor in me wants to say yes, but I’m going to say no,” he said.
The demand will certainly be there to purchase the gear at Belk’s related stores but the last thing that Panthers fans want to see Cam doing during his bye week is hawking suits.
The commitment was etched in stone a long time ago with a forecast of a much better record than the Panthers 1-4 showing.
