BOSTON—The Atlanta Hawks once again showed the world why they are their own worst enemy. The level of inconsistent play that they put on the court now has now buried them in a 3-1 ditch that they most likely won’t get out of.
The team that outgunned the Celtics during Game 1 of this series did not show up for Game 4 even with the return of Al Holford and Josh Smith.
The Celtics are an elite basketball team. So much so that any moment of weakness will get you spanked.
In no uncertain terms, if we must call it like it was the Celtics took their collective belts off and distributed the most definitive old-school whooping since Game 1 of the Heat/Knicks series.
Paul Pierce put in 24 points. Rajon Rondo double-doubled with 20 points and 16 assists.
Smith paced the Hawks with 15 points.
Game 5 returns to Atlanta on Tuesday
