LOS ANGELES –It went into overtime but the Clippers put the Memphis Grizzlies away to take a 3-1 lead in their Western Conference quarterfinals series.

When the Clippers imported Chris Paul they did so that he would provide performances such as he did in overtime.

His eight points led the way for the Clippers in OT and put the exhausted looking Grizzlies down for the night.

For the big picture Paul scored 27 points, nine rebounds and had seven assists.

Lob City’s leader Blake Griffin fouled out but before doing so banged out 30 points, seven assists and five rebounds.

All this is not to say that the Clips ran Memphis over. Matter of fact, Memphis surged during the fourth period and almost capped an 11-1 run off with a dramatic win.

Mike Conley paced the Grizzlies with 25 points. Rudy Gay put in 23 points.

The series returns to Memphis for Game 5 and the Grizzlies will need every bit of their home court heart to avoid elimination.
