Deron Williams shoots down Mavericks to sticks with the Nets

NEW YORK—Deron Williams will do as predicted and stay with the Brooklyn Nets.  According to reports that are running all over wire services and ESPN, Williams has told the team that he will accept their five-year $98 million dollar offer.

Williams himself tweeted today a link to a picture of the Nets new logo and the blurb “Made a very difficult decision today.”

Williams notified his hometown franchise the Dallas Mavericks of his decision through his agent on Tuesday afternoon.

With that out of the way heads are automatically turning towards Dwight Howard to see if the Nets can pull off the trifecta.

Yesterday, the team was trade partners with the Atlanta Hawks and they received the All-Star Joe Johnson.

Today they as expected return Williams.

But Howard?

The financial difficulty that is involved with completing that trinity looms large. There is a scenario that exists that includes moving multiple players such as Brook Lopez and a large collection of draft picks to Orlando in exchange for Howard.

Back to Williams, he is now the face of this franchise that is moving into a billion dollar building.

He is going to be the only star PG that they have ever known and with a couple of key pieces around him he might just be better off being the only true booming voice in that locker room.
