Dez Bryant says that he is a “leader” for the young Cowboys recievers.

For all of his talent, Dez Bryant has proven to be one of the game’s rowdiest knuckleheads since he came into the NFL.
Thus when I saw his recent quote in about “being somewhat of a leader,” I had to shake my head. His talent and ability didn’t give cause for the moment, it was the nightclub brawls with rappers, mall cop rendezvous’ and alleged jewelry boosts.
Here’s the entire set of quotes from The Star Telegram.
“I feel like I’m leading by doing my work, playing hard, trying to take every rep, doing every rep at full speed, 100 percent of the time,” he said. “I feel like by me doing that, the younger guys are seeing it.”
“I just feel like I’m stepping up, doing my job, being accountable, making sure that I’m doing the right things so the people that are under me can do the right things,” he said. “So you can say, somewhat of a leader.”
Bryant has always been a hard worker when he’s been surrounded by football. So as a third year guy quite frankly, I expect the statements about working harder than ever and getting better at his craft.
Now what happens after practice or after games? What happens when football shuts down for a couple of games?
Is he going to lead rookies like Andre Holmes then? Is he talking about passing life knowledge along on how to make in the league by skipping his mistakes?
Or is that where the “somewhat” part comes in?
