It’s week six in the NBA and we dig inside fantasy basketball’s names to pick up, keep at bay and resist outright.

It’s week six and stars are slumping and injuries are running somewhat rampant. Check out how you can fix some of these issues with names such as the Knicks Jeremy Lin, Tiago Splitter and Nikola Pekovic.
Guards:
Must Have:I really Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin. He’s really becoming a go to guy and is flouring under the bright lights
that often break hearts in NYC. He’s recently hit 10-19 field goals for a career high of 25 points and with that team being of need at the PG slot, he’s diligence will be rewarded with plenty of court time.
Also of Note: Tread lightly if you’re thinking about picking up Maverick’s guard Delonte West. West has the talent to make things happen but he has consistency issues that have plagued his entire career. Ride the wave with him but be prepared to jump ship after a couple of bad outings.
Resist: Vince Carter is that guy you just want to grab because of his feats of yesteryear but don’t do it. And if you do, watch for the return of Jason Kidd as that will be the end of VC’s current flourish. Seriously, with this week being a somewhat short week, there really is not much upside to picking him up now. I could be wrong but I doubt it.
Forwards:
Must Have: If you like me have been handcuffed by the Andrea Bargnani injury situation, you might want to look at Ed Davis. His flexibility as a PF/C gives you some sort of leeway to try him with minimal risk. His recent run of double-doubles for the Raptors make him a smart play for at least this week.
Also of Note: The Spurs’ Tiago Splitter has been the epitome of the word “solid” as of late. His numbers have not been incredible but they have been dependable and depending on the rest of your roster, dependable maybe what you need right now.
Resist: The Wizards like what Trevor Booker has been doing off the bench, but he’s already starting to slide a bit after some mediocre play over the weekend. His name is buzzing right now but this one is a pure wait-and-see venture.
Centers:
Must Have: It’s a shame that Minnesota’s Kevin Love decided to act a fool and get suspended as he was going to headline this portion of the show. Moving on, Nikola Pekovic is the move right now especially as recently as late last week he posted up 27 points and 11 rebounds in a single game.
Also of Note: For a former first rounder, Byron Mullens has lived a pretty quiet existence over in Charlotte. Still, he’s worth somebody keeping an eye on as he’s starting to catch fire.
Resist: Derrick Favors is streaking right now and that may pay off. However, I would like to see what another week brings before he gets the full thumbs up.
