Jeremy Lin is upset with the Knicks

As players all around the NBA officially sign new deals, the New York Knicks may have to do some damage control on the centerpiece for their off-season success.

According to the New York Daily News, guard Jeremy Lin is upset at the team for not moving to get a deal done with him before the Houston Rockets put an offer sheet on the table.

“He was surprised that the Knicks didn’t make the first move,” a league source told the paper. “They know they’ve got to mend some fences with him because he believes what the Rockets have told him, that the Knicks weren’t as interested as they are.”

“What he has to learn is that it’s not personal,” the source told the Daily News.”The Knicks merely played by the rules.”

It’s always been pretty much out there that the Knicks would match any deal put on the table for the restricted free agent.

In Lin’s case it certainly is not a matter of who acted first but who acted smartest.

The Knicks were crafty in how they let the competition set the price but like someone said told ESPN, “they will match any offer on Lin up to 1 billion dollars.”

If that doesn’t say love, I don’t know what does.
