CHICAGO — Kansas City Royals left-hander Danny Duffy was yanked from the first inning of Sunday’s game against the White Sox after sustaining an injury.
After an Adam Dunn fly out, Royals manager Ned Yost jogged out to the mound with a trainer and replaced Duffy with right-hander Luis Mendoza.
As this was posted, there was no definite word on the nature of the injury. Does this have anything to with the “tight” elbow that caused him to skip a start last month?
Maybe or maybe not. His 4.00 ERA is not exactly stellar and his .500 2-2 record obviously is not what the Royals are looking for from the 23-year-old.
Don’t be surprised if he ends up on the DL list.
