NFL Power Rankings Week 9

Written by  //  October 30, 2012  //  Feature, Lists, NFL  //  No comments

The top three remains intact as teams shuffle for position at the bottom of the rankings.

#1 Atlanta Falcons (7-0)

After confidently putting down the Eagles, the Falcons are gaining confidence during the crucial stretch of the season.

#2 Houston Texans (6-1)

We’ll see if the bye week did them some good or broke their momentum.

#3 New York Giants (6-2)

Dez Bryant’s misplaced finger saved them from a serious spiral.

#4 San Francisco 49ers (6-2)

The 49ers issue another beating to a division opponent. Who knew?

#5 Chicago Bears (6-1)

The Bears struggled with the Panthers a bit in victory but they are poised to grab a top three spot with their next win.

#6 New England Patriots (5-3)

Any time you throttle an NFL team 45-7 your stock rises.

#7 Green Bay Packers (5-3)

The Packers slip as injuries have rendered them less explosive and easier to be had defensively. Jordy Nelson could return this week which will boost their receiving corps.

#8 Baltimore Ravens (5-2)

The Ravens have had some bounce back time to prepare for the second half of the season. Let’s see which direction they go in.

#9 Denver Broncos (4-3)

The Broncos are finding new believers after licking the Saints on Sunday evening. With an easier schedule on deck, good things could be on deck for them.

#10 Miami Dolphins (4-3)

Are the Dolphins for real? When you can stop the run and score enough points to win, the answer is yes.

#11 Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3)

Depending on how the Ravens adjust to life without Ray Lewis, the Steelers could be coming on at just the right time in the AFC North.

#12 Minnesota Vikings (5-3)

The Vikings are falling fast now that the pixie dust has worn off of quarterback Christian Ponder. A third horrific game in-a-row is the worst thing that can happen to him and his team.

#13 Indianapolis Colts (4-3)

Two more wins and watch how fast the Colts become the new sexy pick of the AFC wildcard chase.

#14 Arizona Cardinals (4-4)

There is no other way to say it but not now that the Cards are at .500, they are one game away from being a sub.500 team.

#15 Seattle Seahawks (4-4)

The team that was finding ways to win is suddenly finding ways to lose. Seattle is capable of turning it around but they must stop playing streaky football.

#16 Philadelphia Eagles (3-4)

The good news is that the Eagles still have time to win their division. The bad news is that they don’t seem to believe that.

#17 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4)

The Bucs can be in turn-around mode as their offense has become capable of taking on the heavyweights.

#18 Cincinnati Bengals (3-4)

The Bengals jump a few spots during their bye thanks to their talent and the beatings that their peers took while they were off.

#19 Dallas Cowboys (3-4)

Dallas is once again in seasonal turmoil. A win over the undefeated Falcons will go a long way to lifting their spirits; a loss will do nothing for the state of owner Jerry Jones’ mental health.

 #20 St. Louis Rams (3-5)

The Rams have officially lost their ‘can- upset-anybody’ status.

#21 Washington Redskins (3-5)

Washington appears to be a bit in-over- their-heads right now. There is only so much one man can do. RG3 keep your head up.

#22 New York Jets (3-5)

Wow. Just….wow. A week off will do them all some good.

#23 Tennessee Titans (3-5)

With both the Texans and now the Colts surging, the Titans don’t have a prayer in the AFC South.

#24 Buffalo Bills (3-4)

After having surgery on his injured wrist, will defensive end Mario Williams stand up and earn his money?

#25 Oakland Raiders (3-4)

If the Raiders can take one thing away from the first half of the 2012 season, it’s that wide receiver Denarius Moore can seriously BALL.

#26 Detroit Lions (3-4)

The Lions can only hope that the Vikings collapse, the Packers stumble and that they will win out to see the post-season. That’s a tall, tall order to fill.

#27 New Orleans Saints (2-5)

There will be no miracle this season.

#28 San Diego Chargers (3-4)

They could not even score a touchdown in a loss to the Browns. Welcome to the power rankings ghetto San Diego.

#29 Cleveland Browns (2-6)

How many more win can the Browns pull off this year? Our guess is four.

#30 Carolina Panthers (1-6)

Their morale is broken and the franchise appears to be in turmoil. It would not be a surprise if the Panthers won less than three more games this year.

#31 Kansas City Chiefs (1-6)

How does the head coach not know that his best weapon is not being deployed consistently?  Jamaal Charles, we’re feeling for you man.

 #32 Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5)

The worst team in football remains the worst team in football
