#10 Champ Bailey & Tracy Porter- Denver Broncos
With age comes with wisdom is Champ Bailey’s mantra and that wisdom is about to be passed onto Tracy Porter. Does Champ still have anything left in the tank? His injury issues and decline in ability has him labeled as a potential soft touch in 2012.
At 34-years-old, he has nothing left to prove in the bigger picture yet in the smaller one as long as he continues to play he has everything to prove. Last season, statistically was a wash for the most part yet he still seized moments such as he did when he shut down Steelers deep threat Mike Wallace in the Wild Card round of the AFC playoffs.
“It was a key to the game holding him down because every time they’ve won games this year they get a big play,” Bailey said after the game. The timing of coming up big at the right moment is a trait shared by only the best and as long as Bailey does that he is the man.
In 2012, Bailey has been designated as the “shadow” of the Broncos secondary as former Saints CB Porter steps in to play RCB in their base package. Porter could go down as one of those Super Bowl heroes that for the most part has a mediocre career.
At 25, Porter has the rest of his career ahead of him with a titan of a mentor to push him forward, it’s predicted that he’s about to have the best of times.
