Plaxico Burres claims Mark Sanchez played 2011 with a shoulder injury and more in NFL Daily Digest.

Pay Me: Veteran safety Ed Reed is either having a good time or he’s sending subliminal messages to his team’s front office.

The Baltimore Ravens are in a quandary. They have a lot of stars in line to get paid and one of their brightest and most respected has been vocal about wanting a new deal.

Reed is in the twilight of his career and with frequent iinjuries and age creeping   up on him after his deal expires this season, there are no guarantees.

He is due $7.2 million now but what about later?

If he plays this year out and for example reinjures his hip, the dollars that he could command moving forward will be greatly reduced.

So what does he do? He takes to Twitter and sends a thinly-veiled message that could signal his continued absence from team activities unless a new deal is put together.

“Back home with my son, he’s riding his bike an I’m doing yard work! Tell the bosses I’m comfortable!”

Of course it comes with a picture.

Other Twits: Speaking of Twitter shout outs, Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald is a legend-in-the-making this we know.

As a leader, he’s also playfully calling out his rookie charge from Notre Dame Michael Floyd for not joining him in the gym to prepare for the upcoming season.

“Just finished a great workout with @Wellefast. I’m charging @MichaelMFloyd with a DWI “don’t want it” he missed a 3rd straight workout 2day.”

Floyd needs to step his game up. Twitter is a cold, cold world.

Dropping Dime:  Former Jets/Giants/Steelers wideout Plaxico Burress continues to grant interviews as he remains absent from an NFL roster.

One of his favorite topics this off-season has been Jets QB Mark Sanchez. Today on WFAN, he revealed that Sanchez played out last season with an undisclosed shoulder injury.

“He definitely has enough arm [to make all of the throws]. He was battling some injuries last year, shoulder-wise that a lot of people didn’t know about … different things like that. But I think he really turned a corner.”

I’m not sure how spilled secrets will get him paid but who knows maybe Plaxico is really on a press junket for an upcoming tell-all.

Quickly: The Saints and their QB Drew Brees could get a long term deal done within the next day or so. The Saints reportedly will make him the richest player in the history of the league.  At this point that may not be good enough as Brees is fighting for $20 million a year not $19.5 not $19.6 not $19.7… you get the idea.

The NFL’s supplemental draft this year stars Baylor WR Josh Gordon. We will have a feature on him tomorrow after the results come in from his workout.

This Adrian Peterson mess even has his father Nelson jumping in to offer his two cents to the Pioneer Press.

“Adrian is kind of frustrated because he’s the kind of guy who’s tried to do the right things in society and he cares about being a high-character guy,” Nelson said. “He has a 9-year-old daughter, so he doesn’t want her hearing in the news about how he’s being perceived.”
