Rob Gronkowski joins forces with the DEA to help drug addicts.

Admit it one of the first things that comes to mind when you think of Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is partying.

Whether he’s showering himself and others in whiskey baths, hanging out with adult stars or throwing down after a devastating Super Bowl loss not much can be done to stop his alter-ego named The Gronk.

Putting all that aside what he and his family are trying to combat is drug abuse and that is why they have partnered with the DEA, New York-New Jersey High Intensity Drug Area program, and the Buffalo Bills Youth Foundation and have purchased $30,000 worth of gym equipment for a treatment facility for youth that are battling addictions according to the Buffalo News.

“When these kids are on the street, doing drugs, they usually forget all about their bodies and their health,” facility recreation specialist Diane Mancuso said. “All they care about is the drugs.  When they come here, one of the things we start them on is working out, exercising and starting to feel good about themselves again.  It’s all part of the process of recovery.”

Gronkowski will make an appearance this Friday at the facility’s grand opening.

“When you’re growing up, you need to stay around people who are headed in the right direction and stay away from people who will take you in the wrong direction,” Rob Gronkowski said.

“It was perfect timing,” Gordy Gronkowski said.  “We had started the foundation and were looking for ways to help kids in the community where my sons grew up.”

If LMFAO show up it will be interesting to see the direction this event takes.

The fiest thing that comes to mind is Groncowski is a very poor role model for kids or anything else. He he is very high profile and has a big problem with alcohol. How can he say to a young person that abusing drugs are bad when he is as much a druggy as anyone on the streets. He can not drink like he does, mess with women, play into the night, and say drugs are not good for you.I am totally disapointed with him and his actions. The new England Patriots should disaplin him for his actions like any other player.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. He can now do some good with his celebrity. You don’t have to forget, but weigh the good with the bad and live with it.
