Admit it one of the first things that comes to mind when you think of Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is partying.
Whether he’s showering himself and others in whiskey baths, hanging out with adult stars or throwing down after a devastating Super Bowl loss not much can be done to stop his alter-ego named The Gronk.
Putting all that aside what he and his family are trying to combat is drug abuse and that is why they have partnered with the DEA, New York-New Jersey High Intensity Drug Area program, and the Buffalo Bills Youth Foundation and have purchased $30,000 worth of gym equipment for a treatment facility for youth that are battling addictions according to the Buffalo News.
“When these kids are on the street, doing drugs, they usually forget all about their bodies and their health,” facility recreation specialist Diane Mancuso said. “All they care about is the drugs. When they come here, one of the things we start them on is working out, exercising and starting to feel good about themselves again. It’s all part of the process of recovery.”
Gronkowski will make an appearance this Friday at the facility’s grand opening.
“When you’re growing up, you need to stay around people who are headed in the right direction and stay away from people who will take you in the wrong direction,” Rob Gronkowski said.
“It was perfect timing,” Gordy Gronkowski said. “We had started the foundation and were looking for ways to help kids in the community where my sons grew up.”
If LMFAO show up it will be interesting to see the direction this event takes.
