San Antonio Spurs topple the bruised Clippers

SAN ANTONIO –The Los Angeles Clippers are in trouble. When that is evident in Game 1 of a series it’s hard to reconcile some sort of path to victory for them when the truth is standing in the middle of the court.

Memphis may have lost the series but they stamped the Clippers with so much pain that when they shipped them off to San Antonio, they were gift wrapped for the Spurs.

Chris Paul only managed six points as he shot 3-for-13.

When the game got underway, the Clippers were competitive enough to leave room for hope going into the second half.

Then the Spurs opened up the skies and it started raining 3-pointers.

Manu Ginobili contributed 22 points to the Spurs and Kawhi Leonard chipped in 16.

For the Clippers, Eric Bledsoe paced the Los Angeles with 23 points and Caron Butler and Blake Griffin dropped in 15 apiece.

One game is just one game but if the Clippers don’t find a way to rejuvenate, this won’t get any prettier.
