The Golden Nugget Casino released its 111 Game of the Year college football lines Monday, marking the sixth time the Las Vegas odds makers have been the first out of the gate to test the lucrative betting-waters of an upcoming college football season.
While this assuredly will give rise to new complaints that one’s team has been, once again, overlooked or undervalued, it also presents the opportunity for football savvy bettors to make a pretty penny. The smart money will, in turn, start the process of correcting lines, indicating to fan bases, perhaps, a more accurate estimate.
Early lines can be the best opportunity to middle bets, or, at the very least, a great excuse to discuss how you would—or wouldn’t— go about it.
After digging through 104 of last year’s games to see the difference between open and close, BeyondTheBets.com found that there were eight lines that moved 10 points or more.
These initial lines are an incredibly early speculation of outcomes that will undoubtedly change due to injuries, weather conditions, or whatever list of combinations or permutations you can come up with; but that is the beauty of it all.
At this stage, there’s no odds screen to inform the misinformed, no cheat sheet of what is, or is not, a good bet.
No cheat sheet, that is, until now.
Here’s a list of 10 of the Golden Nugget’s most attractive initial lines—the one’s that would be best bet on twice.
