The Dallas Cowboys set social rules for Dez Bryant

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys are not kidding around with wide receiver Dez Bryant.

The troubled wide receiver has been involved in too many incidents that have caught the eye of the public in a negative fashion and the team has stood up and provided him with a set of rules that he must abide by.

The guidelines have been in place since August 13th according to ESPN. They are as follows.

• A midnight curfew. If he’s going to miss curfew, team officials must know in advance;

• No drinking alcohol.

• He can’t attend any strip clubs and can only attend nightclubs if they are approved by the team and he has a security team with him.

• He must attend counseling sessions twice a week.

• A rotating three-man security team will leave one man with Bryant at all times.

• Members of the security team will drive Bryant to practices, games and team functions.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones set the tempo for Dez who Jones says will help himself stay out of trouble.

“Oh yeah, very much willing to do anything he can to help himself and help the team,” Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said of Bryant. “He’s very open-minded and cooperative. He’s doing the right things by his teammates and everybody is counting on him.”

These steps were taken after Bryant’s mom called 911 and then claimed that he allegedly assaulted her.

But that incident was truly the straw that broke the camels back.  Bryant has had negative light shed on him after problems in a Miami night club, a shopping mall and other public places.

    how old is this guy????

  • babe22

This is a sad commentary on a sad individual. Jerry is right to put this guy on notice, but I hope he makes dez pay for all the babysitters. A grown man with all the riches starring him in the face and he just does not get it. What kind of boy did his mother raise?????

dump him. embarrassment to both cowboy organizations that groomed him for a fabulous opportunity and he is pissing it away. dump him and let him go be a bum

  • DavidShiel

Does any one really think this will work! Cut your losses J.J. This guy is poison to any organiztion that he will ever be with in the N.F.L.

The problem as I see it stems from the fact that no one has ever said NO to him since he was a pre-teen because of his athletic abilities. Take a spoiled teenager and give him anything he wants and you get a immature, spoiled adult who is nothing but trouble. He is nothing more than a cancer to the Cowboys. How does this special treatment set with his fellow teammates? What kind of an example does this set for the youth of today? Be good in sports and you can get away with anything short of murder? (Oops, then there’s OJ.)

J.J. If you find yourself working harder then the player, client/patient. You need to rethink what your doing. This man doesn’t take any responsibility for himself and may need to bottom, before he can become a man

I sincerely hope Bryant can get it together. I have my doubts about him, but he has the potential to do great things for the Cowboys. Go, Cowboys!

You would think after dealing with T.O. Dallas would come down on this guy quicker and hold his feet to the fire if he wants to stay there and if not make sure all the other teams know exactly why he was booted off the team.

TO just released by Seahawks. Dump Dez and re-sign TO!

  • jeff wolfe

JPP—- TO is a older washed up pain in the butt, that is one thing the Cowboys don’t need, Dez will be alright, the veterans will keep him in line.

This guy is done if you put him in “lock-down,” he needs to be given enough rope to hang himself.
