Guess Who Just Killed The Vibe In Tom Brady’s Corner Office?

If you, like many are having a hard time understanding why this deal with Gisele Bundchen (d.b.a. Mrs. Tom Brady) running her mouth about the rest of the New England Patriots is such a big deal, you must take their situation and apply to real world circumstances. Once you read the following, this will all make perfect sense; especially if Wes Welker ends up playing out his career elsewhere.

Envision if you will that your company is poised to land the biggest account in the history of your industry.

If you can put yourself in the position as the project leader that the owner has personally selected to bring it all home. You work long hours, you prepare your presentations, you fire up your team and everything looks as if you are set to be “ that” guy that will solidify your company’s success for a long time to come.

In the end, the shoe drops and your fiercest competitor lands the contract. Your team fought hard, there were some mistakes made, some of which you were responsible for, but overall you just came up a little bit short.

Everybody feels bad, horrible in fact but yet you all know there will other chances and other deals. And then out of nowhere, your spouse decides to avoid the high road as he or she has done millions of times before and starts throwing body blows at your co-workers.

The setting was not directly in your office but it was in a very public setting. So public in fact that everyone in your industry hears their taunts loud and clear. Blame for the botched deal is thrown at just about everyone but you because hey they were defending you right? That makes it ok right? You are the man, your minions can deal with it right? Nothing matters more than the fact that your other half had to have their say instead of side-stepping a few simple taunts to keep things cool with your co-workers right? Your family is the family that is entitled to pass judgement right?

Yoko Ono Would Be Proud.

Wrong. Tom Brady needs to have a sit down with his lady and find a way to get her to apologize very publicly for what she said as she exited Super Bowl 46.

Players View planned to avoid paying serious attention to this but the word is out now that feelings have been hurt. The line was crossed and something needs to happen to make it right. So here we go.

Wes Welker dropped perhaps the most important ball of the game and he is now a free agent. That’s not to say that he has said that he is going to bounce based on what Tom’s wife said to anyone that would listen, but the fact is this situation has become a circus and he is in her eyes the unnamed head clown.

As such, how do you think he feels right now? This is a story that won’t die it looks like anytime soon and it’s up to Tom to make it right.

Things are bad enough for the guy on a team that the majority of the players feel is above the law.  There have been some rumblings here and there but for the most part Brady has kept his guys on his side over the years.

THIS? This is bad because if Brady tries to let this blow over as to not anger his obviously aggressive spouse, it will send a message to the team mates that are supposed to follow him every Sunday.

That message will not be a good one and it is in direct violation of the “Patriot Way.” This is the way that avoids trouble at all costs. This is the way that keeps all problems in house. This is the way that the Kraft family has built this team on.

So in the interest of the Patriot Way, Mrs. Brady must forget that she is a super-model for the time being and do her beloved “ Tommy” a solid and make this thing work out.

Nothing is worse for a team than resentments. And Patriots will have a long time to stew on said resentments before camp starts in the summer.

Regardless of how many ‘hey dude I’m sorry that she bugged out,’ calls are made privately, there must be amends made publicly. Yoko One has more love amongst pure Beatles fans that she does with the Patriots fan base right now. There must be humility and it must be public.

If not, these whispers that have started to leak out today will be roars at the start of next season.  You might not literally hear them or see them, but they will be there. And they will have their say as well.
